Plot logic regularly requires some suspension of disbelief, but there are enough plus points in this show to still make it an enjoyable watch.More than the overarching story, and more than the cases of the day, it’s the characters and their warmth that wormed their way into my heart, then resonated and lingered with me.Which means I have my recently acquired soft spot for Hong Jong Hyun to thank, for motivating me to finally check out this drama. And I’m glad that I took the time to check it out, coz in spite of its flaws, this show turned out to be a fun little watch with more pluses than minuses.
While not huge, they did dampen the show somewhat, and I could’ve done with a lot less – or none – of these issues. Plausibility and believability is definitely a Thing that you’d need to get past, in order to enjoy this show.
For example: we see a man pretending to be a detective to lure a bored librarian.
We also get to know a cook with masochistic tendencies (still in the SM theme), who wants to make his worst enemy love him.
Sometimes she was on the edge of getting irritating, but her niceness and cuteness did save her from a negative judgement. Characters start to act dumb, reasons for certain choices are not explained, the romance doesn’t really get off the ground either…
and I even started wondering if I should still root for the male lead, because he just didn’t seem to love her at all. This is something that never ever in my whole drama watching career has happened. If you get bored with one of the subplots you can easily skip parts of them, without losing the storyline.
